Anastasia Jove Halcomb was born in August of 1984. A 2nd generation American and first born daughter to Efrain Jove' and Anastasia Foy. She was born in Glendale California and grew up in southern California. Her mother who is predominantly Irish and her father who is Puerto Rican raised her and her 6 younger siblings in the church. Starting at a young age Anastasia helped out in the children's ministry with her Father and mother, leading worship and teaching Sunday school plays. At the age of 7 years old, Anastasia was diagnosed with a severe neurological disorder known as "Tourette's"
"I remember feeling like everyone was always staring at me and they would blame my parents and treat me like I was a monster of some kind. I would hear a rhythm in my head and would have a strong compulsive feeling to complete it. It got so bad that I had rubbed my toes raw and my knees together till they bled and were wrapped in bandages. The neurologist told my parents I was incurable and would be screaming out obscenities to passerby people by the time I was 17. With nowhere else to turn and almost out of hope my parents reached out for the council of a close family Pastor. He advised me to declare the name of Jesus with every tick and told My dad to fast and pray for me. At the end of the fast I was 100% healed- it was the first of many miracles I witnessed God do throughout my life. "
Anastasia was home schooled from 2nd grade through high school by her USC graduate mother. "My mom always went above and beyond to make sure we were well rounded. I was involved in Musical Theatre, performing arts at Biola university, took ballet for 12 years as well as jazz, tap, gymnastics, and not to forget team sports of basketball, volleyball, competitive swim team and Piano lessons for 8 years. Oh and she also had us take Latin, sign language and Spanish because one foreign language was not enough for my over achiever mother" After 3 broken engagements and swearing off all men, Anastasia met Aaron Halcomb and his 3yr old daughter, Caidy when she was 22 and they were married by the time she was 23! "He is the best thing that ever happened to me and I thank God every day for having him be so persistent. Ha ha" After being told by countless Drs. that she could never conceive on her own, Anastasia got pregnant and gave birth to Arianna Nashville in Antelope valley California. "We had her on Medicaid because Aaron had been laid off from his job due to the Recession that hit Cali in '09. It was a huge blessing to not have to pay for her delivery but the Dr's Name was F-U and nothing went according to plan! As is life though. We survived and though she was jaundice for 2 weeks I couldn't take my eyes off her, she was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen and I couldn't believe they were going to let me just take her home. I remember thinking, shouldn't I have to take a test or something to take someone so precious home with me?"
By the beginning of 2010 Aaron was enlisted in the army and shipped off to basic training in Georgia; leaving behind a newly pregnant wife and two daughters ( Caidy 6, Arianna 4 months old) "At that point life was crazy. We would move and he would leave for a training or deployment and somehow I kept getting pregnant and we kept having these beautiful babies! God knew I didn't want to be alone so He kept me very busy. Ha ha ha!" Life in the military is by no means glamorous or for the faint of heart and it doesn't pay well either. Anastasia worked many different odd jobs to make ends meet for their growing family. "I was a Nanny, a bartender, a telemarketer, a waitress, a water efficiency salesman, an assistant, hairdresser and eventually my best job to date - "The Oily mommy" an essential oil business owner through doTERRA.
So when God spoke to me in my kitchen all those months ago about running for President It was a total curve ball. I never had aspirations or even desires for anything so lofty as Politics and world governing. As a true millennial, I have always wanted to change the world and felt that someday I would -but as a singer or dancer or essential oil boss babe! Not as a Presidential candidate. Lol!
If someone asked me what I imagined my life would look like in 10 years or what I aspired to do I can guarantee you it would not be anything that has happened in the last decade; but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I am who I am today because of all I have walked through and experienced. And because of that I know the next 10 years are not going to be anything I expect either, but I can't wait to see what good we can do and what massive world change we can bring! It takes a village or a Nation to change the world but it only takes one person believing in the impossible to make it a reality!"
Anastasia, Aaron and their 6 children live in central Texas where their children attend school and Aaron is still active duty in the Army (and set to deploy at the end of the year) "People ask me why now? Why not wait till your husband is out of the military and your kids are older? Why not run for Congress or senate or even Mayor and work your way up? My reply is simple and straightforward, "because God told me to do it" That's it. That's my answer and will continue to be. Is it Big and scary at times and are the elements unknown? Yes but if it was easy and perfect and laid out in steps then everyone would do it. Following God is usually not easy but then again nothing worthwhile in life ever is. I have been called to do this, of that I am certain. What comes of it is not in my control but in His alone; and that's the best place for it to be. I'm sure you have heard the expression "If you want something done right give it to the busiest woman you know!" It's so true. We have been birthing and raising the future since the beginning of time, it's time we had our shot at running America; I know we can do it and do it with grace.”
